Advertising manager, Jeff Birks, moved to Lake Country after residing in several different places along the Rocky Mountain region. In college, he competed in several professional mogul competitions and whenever possible, he and friends created their own, "steep and deep tour," consisting of chutes, bowls, helicopter skiing, cliffs, and anything untouched or unskied. "I'll have to replace my knees before I'm fifty, but boy, was it fun!" says Jeff.

The Birks family looked at the map and chose Brainerd, Minnesota, because of its wide variety of recreational activities. Jeff enjoys numerous outdoor hobbies, including golf, biking, rollerblading, hiking, camping, water skiing, and snow skiing.
